A decision was made to host hi-end servers at a US-based hosting farm. Located in Houston, Texas and staffed 24/7 365 days a year, the company has placed tremendous focus on reliablity and support.
Multiple OC48 SONET fiber rings provide backbone connectivity to eight access carriers, namely UUNET, Level3, Verio, Time Warner, Global Crossing, AboveNet and Allegiance Telecom. The datacenter is completely redundant, with a 2200 gallon backup diesel generator. They have are over 580 smoke detectors throughout the 35,000sq foot facility, with a VESDA contaminate system.
The sites and databases are hosted on Dual Xeon 2.4GHz redundant servers, each with 2Gb RAM. Many hosts overload their servers with thousands of websites on a single server, where each process fights for resources. In average, our servers utilise under 10% of their resources, providing maximum response with the guarentee that resources are always available.
